Herrera x6 🗣

Hola a todos! ¿Cómo han estado?

All I have to say about last week is that you really do get pushed out of your comfort zone as a missionary because never would I ever put this anywhere near my boca back at home...
But I did and I ate my entire serving without throwing up. I'm kinda proud

As for this week, I've learned lots about this beautiful gift of agency we have!
One of our recent converts, Dayana, who was baptized a little over a month ago, hasn't been coming to church or responding to any of our texts. So we did what any missionary would do, and went to her house. After knocking on every door in the complex, we never found her. The next night we recieved a call from her but instead of her it was a different women. This is basically what she said... "This is Dayanas pastor. Dayana has made the decision that she doesn't want anything to do with your church anymore. We know you came looking for her yesterday, don't ever do that again. Delete her number and pull her records from your church."
I was soo sad! Why is she giving up everything that she worked so hard for?
God's plan cannot function without the gift of agency. "For it must needs be, that there is an opposition in all things..."
Without our agency, we can't grow or progress because everything would just be chosen for us. I really believe that everything about God's plan is perfectly designed and because agency is a big part of our life here on earth, I know that this choice that she made will somehow perfectly fit into what God has in store for her. This isn't the correct choice, and I wish that Dayana would use her agency to come to church instead of leaving it, but I know that she will have a million more chances to choose this plan, because God loves and cares about her so much. He wants her to return home to him, and that brings me a lot of peace!

Now here's the best part of my week:
Our beautiful beautiful friend Samadhi got baptized last night. It's so amazing being able to see how much people can grow from the first lesson to being baptized. Honestly, we grew so much together because I think all I said to her in the first lesson was "Yo sé que Dios nos ama" and even though my spanish has grown mounts since then, I also found out that she speaks perfect english so naturally she became one of my very best friends here super fast. She has the biggest heart and strongest testimony of Christ. I am so so proud of her and so happy that I'll get to hang with her forever!

This week has been a huge testament that when one door closes, another one opens. God's plan is constantly working, his children are constantly being gathered, and this gospel is constantly being preached. So even though there are people who decide not to accept it at this point in their lives, there are also people who choose to learn, progress, and make covenants that bind them to God para siempre. Agency really is such an amazing gift!

Les amo muchísimo!!!
