Latinos can dance and Elder Nelson can sing!!!

Hi guys! This week was busy but good! I don't have tons of time but here is a little bit about how it went...

Highlights:

- Played a little too much Secret Hitler last pday (I really missed that game)
-Didn't have to shower in my garments this week!! It's starting to get cooler at night 🙏
-Had 2 weddings for some recent converts! (Almost makes up for the one I missed back at home!)
-Found a good amount of people this week through street contacting!!
-Had a lady tell us she doesn't believe in Jesus while wearing a cross necklace (We ended up sharing a scripture and setting up an appointment with her)
-Couldn't finish the 25 meatballs a member dished me up and her husband told me I cant leave until they are all gone (I still didn't finish them)
-Went shopping and felt so at home!!

We had 2 weddings this week! One was for a cute couple in our ward. The way people get married here is through the state of Utah and their marriage is only legal in Utah. Kinda interesting but the church accepts it so it works I guess! It was definitely a different wedding than the ones back at home hahaha but still a super good time!!! The Elder that taught and baptized the lady prior to the wedding had the PRIVILEGE of singing their first dance song and I don't think I've ever laughed harder (it's on my google photos if you need a good laugh)
The second wedding was also super fun!! It was for a couple in the other Hermanas ward so we were only there for the dancing part of it. & when I tell you that latinos can DANCE!!! I was watching every one of them and they all were dancing like they were professionals. It was so much fun. They played some American songs and Spanish songs and we got in dance circles and everything. It kinda felt like I was back at a party with all my friends, but instead with a bunch of Latinos at a church hahaha

Exchanges! (PT 2)
It's not normally like this but since Hermana Haslam and I are comps with the 2 STLs for our zone, we have more than one exchange a transfer because the STLs have to go on exchanges with all the other companionships. So that leaves Halsam and I to be companions for the day! There were 2 exchanges this week. At first we were nervous because we're both greenies who don't know Spanish. We were truly confused on what we we're going to be able to do all day. The first day though we kinda killed it. We went out and street contacted the best we could and we ended up talking with over 10 people and even got 4 numbers! Honestly, they might have just given us their numbers because they felt bad for us but a number is a number and now they get to learn more about the gospel!
The second day was not as successful unfortunately. People didn't want to listen to us so we didn't feel very productive. We also missed like 3 different busses and that kinda sucked hahaha. On the upside though we went shopping during our lunch hour and that was so fun!!!

Spiritual thought!
Last night we had a lesson with one of our new friends. We were teaching her about the Gospel of Jesus Christ (faith, repentance, baptism, gift of the holy ghost, and enduring to the end) and we had her read this scripture:

25 And the first fruits of repentance is baptism; and baptism cometh by faith unto the fulfilling the commandments; and the fulfilling the commandments bringeth remission of sins;
26 And the remission of sins bringeth meekness, and lowliness of heart; and because of meekness and lowliness of heart cometh the visitation of the Holy Ghost, which Comforter filleth with hope and perfect love, which love endureth by diligence unto prayer, until the end shall come, when all the saints shall dwell with God.

Her face lit up after reading this. She was SO happy. Such a beautiful scripture and it was a testament that the power of the Book of Mormon is truly so real. I have seen mounds of blessings here that come from studying it every day and I also see how its power affects other people here too. A small scripture can have such an impact on someone just like it did for our friend last night. The spirit was so strong!!! 🥹

Moral of the story is read your scriptures! I love you all so much! Hope you all have a good week!!
