Chao Vigo!

Soo we got transfer news this last weekend and I'm saying goodbye to one of my favorite places!!! I have loved my time in Vigo and I've learned soo so much about myself and my Savior here!

I'm headed across the country to an area called Pamplona!! Instead of boarding Portugal I will now be boarding France! (Heyy chasee) I'm opening up the area after it's been closed for a couple of transfers, and training!! Guau guys I am so nervy and excited and everything that one person can feel. I was never expecting to whitewash train but I guess God trusts me so I trust him too. Praying I'm as good of a mom as my mom was to me! (Hehe Rob ily)
There are 25 greenies coming in and so much that's ahead. I'm growing up in the mission ahhh, the work is moving along and God is preparing his children everywhere. I'm so lucky to be his servant and I know that this big change will be so good!!

So because I'm leaving Vigo I want to take a lil walk down memory lane and share some of the best memories from this lovely place...
- One of the most beautiful cities and easily the prettiest place I've ever been to for christmas time. Never have I ever seen so many lights in my whole life. Everything was brighter, the people were happier, and the Christmas spirit filled the whole city. We've loved going on moring runs to the beach, taking ferry boats to the island, and going on hikes. Pictures just do not do this place justice!
- I have been in 2 different trios here in Vigo! The trio life is definitely a different experience that taught me lots of patience, love, and unity but I wouldn't trade any of my companions for anything because of the lessons that I've learned and the people that we've all become together!!
- There has been so many fiestas here! If you know me you know that I am a party girl in a party world and I've loved loved loved it. This weekend there was a big celebration for the reconquista of Vigo. There were so many people dressed up and markets and food and dancing! 💃 It was in this huge square by this massive human/bird/fish statue that's actually really ugly (see below) but a big symbol of Vigo. There's soo many weird statues and monuments here but they're all really cool to look at!! We also met this lit columbian couple there that came to church yesterday!
- Some more beautiful people made some beautiful covenants with God this week! I'm so proud of them. These past couple of transfers we have helped lots of people progress towards baptism and we've found and reactivated so many non-active members. I'm so thankful for every single friend and member that I've been able to get to know and teach here. I have seen people absolutely change for the better and I will never forget the way these people's testimonies have grown and the way that mine has strengthened because of them!  There's been so much good work here and I just love these people!! 🌊

Soo I've truly loved it here if you can't tell. But if I'm being super honest, I hated it at first. I thought that there was no way that I would be able to love the people here as much as I did in my last area. I didn't even know that it was possible to have so much love in my heart for so many people. But I do!! There's been some really hard parts, and Vigo has tested me in ways that I never imagined, but I can confidently say that I've grown so much because I've been able to recognize God working through me and blessing me every single day. This place will always be so special to me ❤️‍🔥

Well, see you guys in Pamp with my hija!!! Les quiero muchísimo!

I didn't burn the house down!!

Hi guys!!!
Another week in Veegs and God continues to bless me every day!

Here are some updates!
- We had zone conference and it was super good! (como siempre) I learn so much every time!!
- We've been going on morning runs to the beach!! It is so beautiful here I'll never get over it
- Yesterday I was doing my hair (as one does), using the same flat iron that I've used for the past 9 months, when all of the sudden... we hear a big boom, a flash of light, and then everything went pitch black. My flat iron literally EXPLODED, in my hands. It was so scary. Then we lost electricity for the day. But its okay cause we're chilling now!!! All is well that ends well 🔥 (pro tip: don't use American heat tools in Europe)
- This weekend we got invited to a quinceañera for one of my FAVORITE member families here and guys I think it was one of the funnest nights ever. Everyone was nonstop dancing and laughing and eating and it was the craziest celebration for the sweetest 15 year old girl wearing the prettiest blue dress. I'm so jealous because I don't understand how every Latino I meet can dance so well. Like everyone here is SO GOOD at dancing. The way they just move their feet and bodies so effortlessly, I've now made it my life mission to learn how to dance like they all can 💃🕺
- We had 14 friends at church yesterday and we are teaching 3 beautiful families. God is preparing so many people here!!!
But... we also had to take some people off of date this week. People that I KNOW are going to get baptized so super duper soon, but have some things to figure out first, or want to make sure they are keeping their commitments before making this covenant with God. This week was really hard for me because these are people that I have grown to love and care about so much and I just want everything for them. I want them to feel the happiness of this gospel not just now but forever and I didn't understand this week why it's in Gods plan for them to not get baptized right now when they are sooo ready. And I still don't understand. But I continue to learn every day that God's timing is perfect and that everything will work out in the way that he has planned. He knows better than I do. I'm so excited for these people to be in white. Maybe not now but so soon!!

Spiritual Thought! 💒
I finished Alma this week!! Heres some scriptures towards the end that I liked...

33 But behold, we trust in our God who has given us victory over those lands, insomuch that we have obtained those cities and those lands, which were our own.
34 Now we do not know the cause that the government does not grant us more strength; neither do those men who came up unto us know why we have not received greater strength.
37 But, behold, it mattereth not—we trust God will deliver us, notwithstanding the weakness of our armies, yea, and deliver us out of the hands of our enemies.

This sums up Alma honestly. The Nephites put their trust in God, fought for their freedom and they were delivered. Time and time and time again. I cant imagine all of the times where they felt so defeated, scared, sad or angry. But they never lost sight of God even during the hardest times and that's what kept them on top!

Les quiero muchísimo! Have a good week!! Email me and tell me what's up!! ❤️‍🔥

Nueve meses!! 🥳

Today I hit 9 months of being a missionary! I am halfway through!! I couldn't tell you if it's gone by so fast or so slow but what I do know for a fact is that God is preparing his children for when Christ comes and there is so much more work to be done!! I'm super excited for these next 9 months!

The last 2 weeks have been loco but super good! I only got like 20 "aggressive drivings" and 14 "check your speeds" and the funniest part is that this is probably the safest I've ever driven in my life! We 🫶 tiwi!!

Heres some other highlights...
-After 4 months of living here in Vigo I finally made it to the beach. It is so beautiful but I just wanted to go swimming! (I didn't)
-We got absolutely soaking wet walking to the church in a LITERAL RAINSTORM. Everyone felt so bad they started taking off their jackets and putting them on me 😭
-Carnaval happened last week!! It's this big event that involves parades, parties, costumes, dancing, etc. It was lit but I still can't figure out why it's a thing. It's kinda like halloween, but on crack. I can't imagine the things that went on over in South America
-We got a text last week from president telling us that there is an emergency situation in the mission and that we need to let our leaders know where we are and if we are safe right away. Lol so kinda scary but also it made me laugh. I was like "everyone chill I bet it's just a drill." 45 minutes later he sent another text saying that it was just a drill. Hahaha
- We put 2 more friends on date!!! One's name is Iago and he's the child of a member who wants to get baptized! Soo awesome! The other is Alex who we've been teaching for a good amount of time now! He's so super lit but his girlfriend just moved here from Italy and is now living with him so that has created a lil problem. No se preocupen tho because we might be cookin up a wedding for them ☺️ vamos a ver!!

💒💒
I've been reading lots in Alma this week about wars and fighting. Chapters about war aren't usually my favorite but I liked how this one ended. Chapter 46 is about the Nephites going to war with Amalickiah and his followers. The nephites were fighting for their freedom and peace, and they were well prepared to do so. Many people died before Amalickiah and his people fled, knowing that they wouldn't win the fight. There was a verse about the Nephites at the end of the chapter that stuck out to me. It says

And it came to pass that there were many who died, firmly believing that their souls were redeemed by the Lord Jesus Christ; thus they went out of the world rejoicing.

Time and time again we see examples in the scriptures where people are delivered by God for trusting in him. These people fought for their freedom and liberty. Even though many lost their lives, they were able to leave the world rejoicing, knowing that they would be redeemed!! We too can leave this world rejoicing, knowing that one day we will be redeemed!!

Well guys, thats all for hoy. I'll see you all in a quick 9 months. Hope you haven't forgotten about me yet!! ❤️‍🔥
Les quiero muchísimo!! Chao chao! 😚
